“But he who listens to me shall dwell securely And will be at ease from the dread of evil.”

At times, we can look at the world and see dismal problems with food, water, health and even the air that we breathe.

God knew that His people would put their faith in Him, and He spoke to us with words of wisdom, telling us how to think, what to feel, and how to keep our Hope and Faith in Him.

Here, we first must listen to Him.

Proverbs 4:27: Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.

Then we are guaranteed to live in safety.

Proverbs 11:19: He who is steadfast in righteousness will attain to life, And he who pursues evil will bring about his own death.

That is not just a physical nest of security, but also a mental ease.

And it is not just a mental ease of “positive thinking”; it is specifically a distancing from evil’s shadow, and opposite feeling from the “dread of evil.”
